Most of the cheaper parts are no issue since I'm changing the seat, tires, handlebars and a few smaller things but when zoomed in on the picture it shows a 3 piece crankset. It came with a 1 piece so now i need to buy a converter to be able to upgrade the thing. Maybe pic is of newer model and i got sent old stock?I got this for my special needs 11 year old because he cannot ride a 2 wheel bike. He loves that it looks like a "cool" bike and not an "old person" bike.Our list of complaints would include : The bike is tricky to assemble with the given instructions, the video they provide after you email them is far more helpful. The back tire fenders for it do not fit, they are for a different sized tire, and are not adjustable as the video shows, but instead welded. We informed the company who tried to fix it, but only sent us the exact same set, so my dad ground down the welding on them so they could be adjustable. They aren't perfect, but they are better then before. The basket and some of the pieces are white, instead of black like shown, and it looks cheap. I ended up spray painting those pieces black to match better. The seat is god awful uncomfortable, like as soon as your bum touches it, it hurts. We ended up replacing the seat.All in all, nothing that makes me regret my purchase. I'd buy again from this company in a minute. The front brakes were faulty at 1st and they immeadiately replaced them for us for free. I had first called a bike shop to ask for help adjusting everything and I was disgusted by the owner telling me that's what I get for buying it online instead of from them (you know, for 2-3 times the cost!), and I took it to my dad who didn't know what was wrong, but worked at it and eventually we got it perfect.One bike came with two right pedals, the other bike had a defective tire. They bought new parts from Amazon to fix within two weeksI bought this bike for my son. He has balancing issues. Every time we go out for a ride something breaks on it. The back brakes just show him down because if you tighten it you cause drag if you loosen it you don't have stopping power. We had the front rotor unthread itself while he was holding the brakes going down a hill backwards. We fixed that and now the chain keeps popping off. We are in the process of trying to get him a new bike. But with special needs they are really expensive. So my thought for buying this bike always have tools because you have to constantly fix or adjust things on it. They really need to use better brake system then the ones they do.I ever so regret purchasing this Adult Tricycle. It's manufactured poorly, cheap, very cheap. Had to order aditional part to keep handle bars from swivelling. It has a lean to the left side, which can not be corrected according to Trek Cycle Techs and takes away from enjoying the ride. It's too late to send it back. I'm literally thinking about setting it outside in the open for anyone to take it. $4oo down the drain.Assembly was hard! And we ended up taking it to the bike shop to adjust many things. The bike store owner said he really doesn't recommend amateurs putting together trikes, which I believe. I wish I hadn't worried about offending him and talked to him right at the get-go. We did get a new seat because the one provided was possibly not very nice. But in the end, it's pretty AND functional.Dad loves the bike, particularly because it doesn't look like an old person bike or girlie... that said, make sure they can get their leg up high enough to clear the center bar, and for the love of all that is holy, adjust the breaks before launching the maiden voyage down a hill with a lake at the bottom ...Reasonable quality alternative to store options. Assembly required several people. Adjustments required, but end result is good
