This car is pretty awesome. It is really fast and has great control. I like everything about it.I've got a couple of basset puppies that need the energy run out of them. I use this to chase them around the yard. They liked being chased better than chasing it, they'll run up to it barking and run off wanting it to chase them. This one gets approval from both bassets. This is a great R/C Truggy. It requires almost no assembly. Pretty much RTR out of the box. The remote is super light and the center know look like a car wheel, which shows attention to detail. For an RTR, this thing is fast! On the concrete when I hit the throttle, I have trouble stopping it from popping a wheelie. This is not a first time R/C in my mind...unless you are more of an adult. I got this car because I bought my son (who is 8 now but he’s been racing R/C’s since he was 4) several others where one part broke and we had to throw out the whole car. Almost every part on this car is replaceable. Luckily he hasn’t been able to break this one and he’s giving me a run for my money against my Monster Beetle with an upgraded brushless motor and LiPo battery. Speaking of battery life, I’ll be hints, it sucks. I got two extra batteries and get them all charged before we go to a park or track. The battery is good for 15 minutes. It also comes with a charger that can only really be used in your car (which is great at the track), but not so fun at home. I’d recommend buying the charger converter so you can charge batteries using a standard wall outlet. This thing is fantastic. It really exceeded our expectations in the way of quality and speed. We bought it for my 7 year old son who has owned and used slower more entry level RC cars in the past. This was pretty much ready to go out of the box and has a great mode that allows kids to learn in half speed. It seems like all parts are replaceable too so I’m not worried about future damage rendering it useless. You will not be disappointed. It’s a blast to drive for both of us!Very strong, fast, and fun. Not for beginners . battery is kinda bad. I recommend upgrading to lipo.I got this for my 10 yo son for Christmas. He loves it and it works well. My complaint however is for the advertising. It clearly states in the listing that it comes with a charger. However it doesn't tell you that it is a CAR charger. I wouldn't have bought this had I known that the charger was a car one. I paid the extra money for this because I assumed it was an ACTUAL charger. And I say "actual" because this battery takes FOUR hours to charge!! So unless I am going on some long trip, I could never fully charge it only using the car charger. In my truck I have a charger that will work when the truck is turned off, but it keeps going off only after about 15 min- . I am not sure why that keeps happening but now I am into another $75 for a charger and battery. I know there are cheaper wall chargers out there, but you definitely need two battery packs for this. The car is a lot of fun and so far no problems. But we have only run it for about 20 mins so far.I have 3 RC cars/trucks. All Traxxas brand. So the remote is basically the same. No complaints. For the rustler XL-5. Great for the price. Batteries are cheap. Buy a dual charger. Parts are durable. Haven’t Broken a thing yet. The 4x4 VXL TSM is faster and more fun but I break it constantly. And it is much more expensive. I’d still choose the 4x4 if you have the extra money.Got this car cuz I trust traxxas idk if I should hahah,Well you can’t use 3c batteries so I wasted some money and it only comes with a car charger for the one battery I’ve owned multiple RC cars years ago and wana get back into it and forgot how this hobby just is a money pit but it’s fun and I should have got the 4wd because it has a better motor and esc stock and is 4wd haha so if I had to do it over I would get the 4wd and then not have to be upgrading so mich stuff like I already want a brushless motorI've always wanted rc truck at this level. And now I have one. The build quality is great and it's very user friendly with the speed control system. I would definitely recommend getting a 40 watt Ac/DC converter for charging. You get a standard car charger with the car. But it's alot easier with the converter. The good thing with Traxxas is the amount of after market parts you can get. And make the truck your own. Would definitely recommend this to a big kid who loves rc stuff. Not gonna lie. It is expensive at first. But smile on your face will pay for its self.
