love the book and the illustration's.My mother read this book to us when I was little. I love the sense of adventure. The drawings are colorful and sweet. I'm thankful I could find this book since it was published so long ago. I love this book. Thank you guys.I purchased this to have on hand as a wonderful story for very young people to encourage their imaginations. I was upset with the postman who folded it in half to fit it into my mail box. I suggest that Medici Books put future paper back books in a less pliable mailer. Cost may be higher, but the book will not be ruined.I am very satisfied with this product.This is one of my favorite children's stories. The illustrations are delicious- probably the best of any book I know. I had this book as a child, and now I've just purchased another in the series "Kingcup Cottage" for my daughter. It is also a wonderful little story about animals living in the woods with great illustrations. They are hard to find, but well worth it!A book dealer recently told me that he thought this author could be the next big collectable illustrator by those of us who like to collect old childrens books. The illustrations are certainly very appealing.i did not need to know anything about this book as we read it to our children when they were todlers, now we bought it for our grandson. thankyouCharmingly excellent.Lovely book - fond memories of my childhoodkids love it
